"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." – Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
Faith is the foundation of our relationship with God. It is the bridge that connects our finite humanity to His infinite divinity. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that faith is not optional; it is essential. Without faith, we cannot please God. But what does it mean to have faith? Faith is more than just believing that God exists; it is trusting in His character, His promises, and His plan, even when we cannot see the full picture.
Faith requires surrender. It means letting go of our need for control and placing our lives in the hands of a loving and sovereign God. It means believing that He is who He says He is and that He will do what He has promised to do. Faith is not blind optimism; it is a confident assurance rooted in the truth of God’s Word.
The verse also tells us that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him. This is a beautiful promise. When we seek God with all our hearts, He reveals Himself to us in profound ways. He rewards our faith with His presence, His peace, and His guidance. But seeking Him earnestly means prioritising Him above everything — above our desires, our plans, and even our fears.
Take a moment to reflect on your faith. Are there areas in your life where you struggle to trust God? Perhaps it’s a difficult circumstance, an unanswered prayer, or an uncertain future. Bring those areas to God in prayer. Ask Him to strengthen your faith and help you trust Him more deeply. Remember, faith is not about having all the answers; it’s about trusting the One who does.
TO DO:
Identify Areas of Weak Faith:
Take time to reflect on areas where your faith feels shaky. Is it in God’s provision? His timing? His goodness? You may wish to write these areas down and bring them to God in prayer. Ask Him to strengthen your faith and help you trust Him more.
Take Steps of Obedience:
Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Identify one step of obedience God is calling you to take. It might be forgiving someone, serving in your church, or stepping out in soul winning. Let your faith move you to action. This week, identify one area of your life where you need to exercise greater faith and pray for yourself constantly to grow in faith.
Stay blessed,
