The Power of His Presence

“There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” — Joshua 1:5 (KJV)

There is nothing more powerful, more assuring, or more vital to the life of a believer than the manifest Presence of God.

Just as a child finds peace at the sight of their mother, and a family feels secure knowing their father is home, so does the soul of a man settle when God is present. The Duke of Wellington, UK war general and hero, once remarked about Napoleon, ‘I used to say of him that his presence on the field made the difference of 40,000 men.’ If the mere presence of a mortal leader could so shift the confidence of armies, what then shall we say of the Majestic Presence of the Almighty God?

The presence of God is not a luxury; it is a necessity. In His presence, fear dissolves, confusion flees, and weakness becomes strength. In His presence, the impossible becomes possible. As He was with Moses, so He has promised to be with you. No matter the fire, the flood, or the fierce battles of life, you will not be alone. (Isaiah 43:1-3)

God’s presence is not just for emotional comfort. It is the game-changer of destinies, the secret of divine direction, and the fountain of supernatural help. It brings peace in storms, wisdom in chaos, and protection in danger. “Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord…” (Psalm 114:7). When God shows up, mountains move, enemies scatter, and doors fling open! Alleluia!

Let this second half of 2025 not be driven by human effort alone. Let it be anchored in His Presence. This is a call to covet the presence of God above all else, to host Him in your life, your family, your decisions, and our church. He is not distant or disinterested. Through the blood of Jesus, the veil has been torn, and access to His presence has been freely given. But we must draw near with hungry hearts.

Adam and Eve lost Eden not because they lost treasures, trees, or comfort, but because they lost God’s Presence. Everything else became void when they were driven out from the face of God. Beloved, don’t step into the second half of the year without the Lord going before you, behind you, and within you.

Let this be your daily cry: “Lord, if Your presence does not go with us, do not let us move from here” (Exodus 33:15). More than miracles, more than breakthroughs, more than answered prayers, long for His presence.

Let this be your holy obsession in the coming months:

“O God, You are my God; early will I seek You… My soul thirsts for You… in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.” (Psalm 63:1)

Prayer:

Father, as we enter the second half of 2025, let us not walk blindly or battle alone. Baptise us afresh with a hunger for Your presence. Be our guide, our defender, our strength, and our peace. Let Your presence mark us, lead us, surround us, and rest upon us knowing fully that Your presence will make the difference in every situation we face.

God bless you,

O. Oluranti Orioke
