Hope in the Valley

Hope in the Valley

The year was 2005, nearing my birthday, I was in a strange place; set up, betrayed, and deserted, I felt lonely. It was my 'valley of the shadow of death', very confusing and difficult to navigate-the valley experience can be daunting and scary. But David’s music became handy, "Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure." (Psalms 23:4 MSG)

Jesus remains the only hope we have when we find ourselves in life's valleys, for He promises to walk with us therein and assures us that it will not be the end of our story. The end, as verse 5-6 puts it, justifies the means: "You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I’m back home in the house of God for the rest of my life." (Psalms 23:5-6 MSG)

Know this, however unpleasant where you are today is, awaiting you is a 'garden like that of Eden.'

You will surely come out great!

Stay blessed,

Pastor Ranti Orioke
